Cottage Style Custom Cabinetry for Flatscreen

This cabinet fits very comfortably into a Cape Cod condo/second home with New England cottage decor. But with floor space at a premium, this corner was the only possible location for a 42" flatscreen TV, which the owners did not want to be visible. Since the cabinet is deceptively shallow, (only 12" deep) standard retractable media-cabinet doors would have blocked the screen view on the left side. To solve the dilemma, I made a custom hinge/folding door system so that both doors open to the right. The TV is wall-mounted on a standard armature so it can come forward and pivot to the perfect viewing angle.

Cable box, blue-ray player, and wireless router all fit in the  lower compartment. The "dry sink" rail along the back of the cabinet top forms a nook for a state-of-the-art Boze sound bar that distributes audio perfectly.
